Chemical giant’s BASF case study
BASF & A-SAFE
As part of the development process for a new chemical and nuclear facility, A-SAFE were asked to manufacture, supply and install pedestrian and perimeter protection solutions
Customer
The largest chemical producer in the world, employing over 112,000 people worldwide. Their product portfolio includes chemicals, performance products, functional materials, agricultural solutions, and oil and gas, supplied internationally.
Situtation
The chemical giant’s new facility in Scandinavia required a health and safety optimised solution for its new warehouse that would protect critical and vulnerable internal wall panels and doorways from vehicle impacts and safeguard pedestrians accessing the work zone.
Solution
A-SAFE manufactured, supplied and installed full service protection and segregation, ready for the site to be fully operational. Bollards were installed in the new facility to protect industrial doors from damaging impacts with workplace vehicles, iFlex Pedestrian 3 Rail Barrier to guide and protect personnel travelling through the facility and Kerb Barrier to guard walls and structures against vehicle forks, as well as define the edge of traffic routes.
Our iFlex barriers are purpose designed to provide industry-leading workplace protection. On impact, they absorb kinetic energy, dissipating it through the barriers to minimise damage to the floor, before flexing back to their original shape. Delighted with the results, the customer granted us preferred supplier status for its sites in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland.
