DHL case study

DHL & A-SAFE

DHL needed to separate streams of traffic at its UK distribution site and called on A-SAFE to supply and install a high-performing health and safety solution

Customer

The world’s leading postal and logistics company, DHL employs 350,000 people in over 220 countries and territories internationally.

Situation

DHL’s UK distribution site required a health and safety solution to protect both its pedestrians and vehicles on site, ensuring each stream of traffic follows its own designated route.

Solution

The A-SAFE installation team manufactured, supplied and installed iFlex Traffic+ Barrier throughout the facility to segregate vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and ensure a safe and protected facility throughout. iFlex High Level Pedestrian 7 Rail Barrier was also installed to shield essential building equipment from impacts at height, safeguarding the future of the distribution centre against damaging vehicle impact repair costs.

Manufactured using Memaplex™, Our iFlex barriers are purpose-designed to provide industry-leading workplace protection. On impact, they absorb kinetic energy, dissipating it through the barriers to minimise damage to the floor, before flexing back to their original shape.

Sophia Forrester at DHL said: “A-SAFE has played a key role in the development and improvement of health and safety systems across our sites. Trial after trial at various locations has proven A-SAFE’s worth, and it was a natural choice to place them as a preferred supplier. We cannot underestimate the importance of having the right systems in place that not only do their job efficiently and effectively but also provide cost savings for the company.”
